A promising new introduction with similar uses to Semiarundinaria kagamiana, but  less tall.

Plentiful upright culms, initially green but becoming reddish with age.

Forms an expanding open grove.

Sun or light shade.

Fresh looking, pale green foliage.

Useful as a vigorous screen of medium height.

Tolerant of trimming and very useful for containers where the numerous new canes each year, provide a rapid effect.
