A vigorous, hardy bamboo introduced from
The leaves have pale undersides and the plentiful foliage is especially attractive when disturbed by wind.
Spreading habit but not invasive. Under good growing conditions, height may exceed 15ft.(5m) but in the north it may not achieve its full potential in terms of height or diameter.
In warmer districts it useful as a specimen plant, grove, or screen.
Has tolerated -22C.
