Phyllostachys nuda
A tall, exceptionally hardy running bamboo, quickly forming a grove or screen.
The culms appear almost black when young, later becoming dark green. Height may exceed 15ft.(5m). Plentiful small leaves giving a very delicate appearance. Has withstood -26C.
Rapidly effective as a screen. Tolerant of trimming so can be shaped into a hedge if required.
Phyllostachys nuda 'Localis' - Canes may be spotted or blotched purple-brown at base. Otherwise the same
as above. Limited availability.
