Fargesia robusta 'Red Sheath'

An alternative form of this superb, non-running species. Height 12ft.or more. Distinctive glossy foliage. Plentiful,  green canes, eventually becoming pale yellow. An outstanding specimen plant or useful as a screen.

 Leaves are larger than the type and the the growth habit slightly more open and arching. Its name derives from the branch sheaths which are a prominent feature in early summer. A new introduction from China. Has tolerated -15C.
