Chimonobambusa tumidissinoda 
“Walking Stick Bamboo”  

(Syn.  Qiongzhuea tumidinoda)

A Chinese bamboo introduced in 1987. Exceptionally prominent nodes. The leaves are up to 10cm long and the culms are initially dark green.

This is an interesting collectors’ plant suitable for milder areas. 
On favourable sites it is one of  the most vigorously spreading bamboos in cultivation. Best in light shade.
