Phyllostachys aureosulcata
'Aureocaulis'
An exceptionally decorative and versatile bamboo very suitable for northern gardens. Plentiful closely spaced, upright, golden yellow canes around 12 to 14ft. high (4.5m). Stems may zig-zag at base and are often tinted red on the sunny side. Easily grown in sun or light shade. Has tolerated -26C. Slowly spreading but readily controlled. Introduced from China in 1907. RHS. Award. Suitable as a specimen plant, hedge, grove, or in a large container.
